Michael A. Austin
Michael Austin is a native of New Jersey and has been practicing law for 10 years with a concentration in business transactions, real estate and litigation focused on business and real estate disputes.
After graduating law school and passing the Bar in New Jersey, Michael dove head-first into the business world. He worked in construction management at a major New Jersey construction firm before beginning his career as an attorney. With an intimate understanding of the business and real estate worlds and insight into his client’s needs at various stages, Michael has developed a growing circle of long-term and repeat clients.
Michael has a diverse background of legal experience. He has had the good fortune of representing clients in commercial real estate transactions ranging from office leases to acquisitions of industrial properties and everything in between. He is also a well-rounded litigator, having represented countless clients in Chancery and Law Division lawsuits involving business and partnership disputes, real estate disputes, construction defects, breach of contract cases, Consumer Fraud cases and employment suits, among other things. Whether the case is large or small, Michael ensures that each and every client gets the personal attention they deserve.
Michael enjoys helping new entrepreneurs establish their businesses and aligning legal services to help smaller to mid-sized businesses meet their goals and achieve their potential. He ensures that his clients are well informed throughout the process with the understanding that an informed client is a confident client. His philosophy is simple: when knowledge replaces uninformed worry, his clients can make the sound decisions that will drive their success.
Michael is active in the legal community. He currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Young Lawyers Division of the NJ State Bar Association and is on the Leadership Committee of the New Jersey Business and Industry Association’s Young Professionals Network. Michael was named a Rising Star in SuperLawyers, 2016*. Michael was also featured in 201 Magazine’s Top Lawyers Directory in 2013 and 2014 for practice areas such as Commercial Litigation and Zoning, Planning and Land Use. Michael has presented seminars for New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, RealSource and other groups. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey State and Federal Courts and was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States in 2013.
Michael is a graduate of Seton Hall School of Law. He attended Penn State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the Smeal College of Business.
